GJelina in Venice

Photo

This great space on AK in Venice has really come in to its own after
opening a year ago. After a wobbly start and the change of chef that
ensued, GJelina is now pulling in the it crowd that used to line
outside Axe - another of my favorites.

The food is as delicious as the critics are saying and the atmosphere
is relaxed cool.

The decor feels like D&G had a take on the BLD with a twist of Venice
architectural juice.

Next time you come to LA, try this place out.

The Predictable and The Forgotten

(download)

Two great restaurants in Paris - La Coupole in Montparnasse and Le Train Bleu at the Gare de Lyon.

La Coupole is the predictable one but go there at lunchtime and enjoy the art/design gems.

Le Train Bleu is often forgotten but you will not forget a roast lamb meal here. It's excellent and there's something in the play of futurism with the TGVs outside promising amazing French destinations in incredible time while the interior of the restaurant places you firmly in the 18th Century.
