Saving Lives

If there's one letter you should read right now, it's the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation letter that really highlights the foundation's efforts to save lives around the world. It's really incredible what these guys are doing. Letter can be found here http://bit.ly/dBThGf

They just announced A Decade of Vaccines initiative and pledged $10 Billion to this in Davos - see the video and press release here http://bit.ly/aU3U4v

Understanding the level of death among children under 5 is shocking but learning the cause of death as seen in this chart helps you understand that much of this loss is unnecessary if we can find ways - often money - to get vaccinations to the children.

Of course it all feels way too big for individuals like us to make a difference but let's try to do something even if it's sharing the learning and igniting conversation around these initiatives.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. Mohandas Gandhi

This list has been compiled by David Hessekiel from the Cause Marketing Forum. It 's interesting reading and while I recognize that America is one of the biggest giving nations in the world, I think the list could do with a global lens. Feels a bit like the World Series perspective.

While on the subject - please text HAITI to 90999 and donate $10 to help a country that just has suffered enough.
