Stumped

I'm a coffee freak for a number of reasons. First, I only drink one coffee a day. Secondly, I'm real particular about coffee roasting. Finally, I can talk about the shape of the coffee taste like it's a sound wave simply because that's the experience I get when drinking a good coffee.

So imagine how I felt when Joe's coffee decided to change its supplier of coffee from my favorite roaster Barrington Coffee to some Eco something coffee. Joe's immediately repositions itself as yet another coffee shop that delivers coffee flavor that can be best described as flat in its character and for me in its sound wave.

Fortunately, a new coffee store has opened at 29th street and Broadway at the Ace Hotel.

Stumptown coffee is a Portland based Roaster and has outlets in Seattle as well. New York is a new venture for them and it seems to be working well.

Their Cappuccino is perfect (as described by the NWTimes) and you have to try their pastry called The Conversation, which has a butterscotch topping made from butter and scotch - really.
