I admit it, I love Monocle magazine - every month your mind can be completely opened to what's happening in the world while at the same time they take you deep in to subject matter.
Loved this article on the Most Unwanted in 2010. http://bit.ly/7MG2qy Completely agree on America's obsession with old newscasters. Their general view that Twitter is in its 16th minute is a bit harsh but I love Brule's view that old media using twitter is like an old man walking down the street with a young bimbo on his arm. Their view that language is getting all messed up feels dated to me - language is an organism that finds its own forms and disciplines over time - I say let it adapt. Their observation that the Taliban heavily voted for Hamid Karzai is a strong indication of what we have to deal with there. Finally, Joseph Kony came to my attention when my friend Shirley Lo was working in Darfur. He's a rebel leader in Uganda and has massacred thousands, kidnapped children and used them as soldiers and continues to evade arrest even though he has an arrest warrant on his head from the International Criminal Court. This guy needs to be stopped and it will only be through increased awareness and pressure from us all that this will happen.
